Right Here Now

I came across this poem this week.  It spoke to my heart about
my time spent in the Forest or wherever there are trees.
"Here" is my favorite place to be.

    Lost
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

The best moments are always Here!
Listen to the trees!

  1. "Wherever you are is called Here"! That's my favourite line of the poem above. Wonderful shots of trees and I especially love that first one looking up towards the sky! The trees certainly do tell a story, they tell us about life!

  2. A lovely selection of tree images to go with the poem, Mary. I love trees too, and have been caught hugging them. Going into the forest is such a wonderful experience.
