A new word

                                               Petrichord --
the sound of water moving over rocks.

Can you hear it?

Why I love photography

A moonflower brings joy and happiness!

It fills me with awe and gratitude as I watch it unfold.

It lifts me up in faith and optimism
                                                   to see something so beautiful.

My purpose, to share this beauty with others.

I feel compassion
and empathy for its short life
as it folds up
dying in the morning light.

Those feelings are why I love photography.
Feelings to be revisited.

"How near at hand it was,
if they had eyes to see it."

Seeing without Color

Imagine a world without color.
Morning sun finding its way to start the day.

Sunbeams and clouds above the mountains.

                                 Flowers dying
                                      and in full bloom.

Trees in a row,

And trees reflected in still water.

Brightly lit windows that keep out the dark.

                                                        Storm clouds over the water.

Don't let your world be black and gray and white.
The same every day, drab and boring.

See life like this sky!
Swept with pink and blue, gold and orange!
Throw in some green and red, purple and violet!

Color your world!
